We have individually and collectively experienced a range of emotions related to the extreme changes as a result of Covid-19.
It was challenging adapting to the daily new changes to our everyday life.
We were scared and worried, confused and overwhelmed but we were in it together and we still are.
The most beautiful thing we all experienced in different ways was the community spirit, solidarity and people coming together to help each other out.
Although we had to keep our distance, schools were shut down and our local shops were no longer open, we navigated through the different challenges and still managed to be there for each other.
It has shown me that concentrating on the problem just makes the problem bigger.
Finding a solution, seeing the best in people, being there for one another in whichever way we can without excuses makes the world a better place.
Children brightened up the landscape with colourful rainbows.
Volunteers were out delivering care packages.
People all over were working tirelessly to make face masks and face shields.
The NHS staff put their life on the line and teachers stepped up to the plate brilliantly to ensure children were still learning from home.
Because we all have to do our part and work together. We push through the fear when it matters most and work together to get through the tough times.
We should continue to be there for each other through the less challenging times.
Continue to check up on people, care packages should be something we take with us into the better future.
We should always volunteer when our community needs us and spread smiles like wild fires.
Smiling, both giving and receiving, has really got me through this whole period. It is such a simple yet powerful gesture.
I always say growth comes from challenges and the beauty within you blooms during hardships and this is the perfect example of it.
We are still facing challenges as a community, the journey of healing hasn’t fully yet begun.
We will all have to face our traumas, deal with loss and grief and work on ourselves to deal with what we have gone through.
But we will get through it with grace and strength. We will have hard days and harder ones but we will also come out the other side of a truly unique experience with more skills and wisdom then ever before.
reflect. love. heal always
