Self-esteem is the result of the mindset you have, it is the value you place on yourself.
The lower the self-esteem, the less motivation and drive you will have to improve it. It ends up being a self-fulfilling prophecy where you feel unworthy of love, respect and even effort to work on who you are.
When it seems too difficult to improve our feelings of self-worth we have to understand that there is more to us than what meets the eye, there is so much more we have yet to discover.
What are our likes and dislikes, our capabilities and limitations, our strengths and weaknesses, the core essence of our being?
And the best way to answer this, to start the journey of self-discovery is to try something new.
Whether its something you have wanted to do but never got the chance to, something you have always been curious about, or even something that might scare you, give yourself the push to take the leap and try.
It could be something as big as visiting your dream destination or something as simple as reading a new book. You could even begin somewhere in between by starting a new hobby, joining a club, the gym, a new class, etc. The possibilities are endless.
And yes it is that simple there is no need to overthink, no need to worry about how it’ll end up, how you will do or what others think because you need to focus on the journey not the outcome.
Because even if it all fails and you did not get to achieve what you had originally set out to, a new task results in a new discovery you make about yourself.
Remember it is never too late to start something fresh and new, just when you think you know yourself there is always something new to discover.
Each revelation you make, allows you to see yourself in a new light and understand that you are more than what you give yourself credit for.
Only you have the power to either hold yourself back or to plunge yourself into an adventure of endless discoveries, and I say go for it, for what you may uncover will be surprising even for you.
Reflect. Love. Heal.
